Job Opportunities
Post-doctoral fellowship opportunities are available for persons with a Ph.D. in biochemistry with an interest in any of the areas discussed above, or in almost any other area related to the molecular biology of human steroid hormone synthesis. We are especially interested in recruiting outstanding people to join our current work in three areas: 1) Enzymologists and investigators of signal transduction pathways interested in identifying the kinase involved in P450c17 phosphorylation; 2) Structural biologists and physical chemists to study the structure and mechanism of action of StAR, P450c17 and POR; 3) Molecular biologists to study the transcriptional regulation of the steroidogenic enzyme genes. We are especially interested in people with knowledge and expertise with computer-graphic modeling of proteins.  Interested individuals should email or fax their resume or CV to Professor Walter L. Miller at wlmlab@ucsf.edu, or (415) 476-6286.  Clinical training in pediatric endocrinology is also available at UCSF (see http://www.ucsf.edu/pedendo).

Pre-doctoral opportunities are also available leading to a Ph.D. degree. Individuals interested in the Ph.D. program will have to apply for admissions to the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at UCSF. For further information contact Pamela Humphrey, Program Administrator for Biomedical Sciences, Dept of Physiology, University of California San Francisco, San Francisco, CA 94143-0444 (Phone: 415-476-8467).
