Gina Ditto is a Child Life Special Education Teacher that works with the Pediatric Rehab team. She became interested in Child Life when doing her undergraduate studies at Whittier College in southern California. She received her BA in Biology and Psychology. She completed her Masters in Education with and emphasis on Child Life at Mills College. While studying at Mills, she learned of the option to add a Special Education Credential to her degree and thought this would be a great addition to her education. After graduation she taught, for two and a half years, in Alameda, Ca in a Special Education preschool classroom and enjoyed every minute of it. However, she still had a need to be working in a hospital, so accepted Special Education teaching position here at UCSF, which was perfect because she was able to combine her two careers into one.
