Dr. Amy Houtrow is a pediatric physiatrist with the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF. She is the Medical Director of the Spina Bifida Program and the Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Programs. Her clinical focus is caring for children with disabling conditions. She sees patients with acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, rheumatologic disorders, multi-trauma, amputations or limb deficiencies, oncologic disorders, neuromuscular and other neurologic conditions, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. She is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan. She attended Kalamazoo College on a full scholarship for excellence in science and mathematics. She received her medical school training at Michigan State University and was elected Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed two residencies in Cincinnati, OH, one in Pediatrics and one in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is board certified in both disciplines. Additionally, she pursued and received her Master in Public Health in Health Policy and Management from the University of Michigan.
