Dr. Long joined the UCSF Division of Adolescent Medicine in 1999. After completing her Pediatric residency she did primary pediatrics for several years and then entered the UCSD/SDSU General Preventive Medicine program where her area of focus was sports medicine. Her subsequent clinical experience includes college health, school based health, adolescent medicine clinics and medical care within a Job Corps center. She is boarded in Pediatrics, General Preventive Medicine, Primary care Sports Medicine and Adolescent Medicine. Her background and teaching abilities support her role within the division as a clinician educator. She currently does clinical care at UCSF utilizing her expertise in both Adolescent medicine and Sports medicine. She is also the Medical Director at the Health and Wellness Center within the Treasure Island Job Corps. Her area of research and clinical interests include the promotion of healthy lifestyle choices – physical activity and nutrition, clinical sports medicine and medical education.
